Why They Love Being a Student

In our home knowledge and learning are a core value, Adonis takes that value from the classroom to life. Even at such a young age he understands that all opportunities to learn translate to opportunities later in life. In the classroom he works hard not only for himself, but actually gets corrected for spending too much time trying to support his peers. In short, Adonis loves being a student because he knows it's how he and his friends grow.

Favorite Subject & Why

Adonis absolutely loves math. He can work complicated arithmetic in his head and isn't intimidated by mathematical theory or application. He sees numbers as a tool for all fascets of life and works complex problems in his own thoughts when he gets curious about something. He loves to translate miles per hour or a trip measured in miles to kilometers just for fun. Now he's learning that math can help him understand physics, that math can take him to space, and it feels like the fun has just begun

How $20,000 Would Support Their Goals

The award would be largely saved to be used in increments when learning opportunities come up. He is participating in 3 days of summer camp at the zoo, but unfortunately we couldn't afford more. He would love to attend a NASA summer program, and is investing his own money into robotics. The award would allow Adonis to pursue his passions as his educational needs grow, provide him autonomy in his extracurriculars and reassurance that he has the resources to chase his dreams.
