Why They Love Being a Student

Amelia loves both the challenge and adventure of learning. She enjoyed building her big picture understanding and having things to bring home to teach our family about. She lives life with her head high and has the understanding that through school, not even the sky is a limit.

Favorite Subject & Why

Hands down, science. It is full of mystery, stories, creativity, art, reading, and math. It is where she finds the integration of technology coming together with the messy hands on aspects, as she explains, where things happens and changes come from. Biology has been of strong interest for a few years with space over the last year. She recently has refined her goal to become an astrobiologist. I believe science is her favorite because it offered a challenge to her that make her think and dream.

How $20,000 Would Support Their Goals

Amelia would probably ask to spend it on books, home science kits, and a trip to the Museum of the Rockies. She probably would also try and justify a few candies to "give her cells energy" to learn. The reality is a small mix of the above but a lesson in planning and saving with the longer term goal in mind that the money could be locked away and saved for her educational needs later in childhood or adulthood.
