Why They Love Being a Student
Amelia has aspirations to become a pilot. With the goal of flying she understands it naturally comes with studying hard, getting good grades and taking classes that the majority of people attending college do not take. She has always been curious to understand how and why things work.
Favorite Subject & Why
Amelia enjoys science the most. Her reasons, its easy and she likes the teacher. From a parents point of view, she is naturally a curious person and notices small details in her environment. Science gives her that challenge. Amelia taps into her creative side and is fascinated by cause and effect, using hands on experimentation and creation, she can observe in real time how different fabrics react to different media when she creates her own costumes or art.
How $20,000 Would Support Their Goals
The award would help support her aspirations in becoming a pilot. She wants to start the pilot program at 15 giving her ample time to study and completely understand the curriculum before getting her pilots license at 17 and moving on to the Naval academy, Annapolis, after finishing high school. The award wouldn't pay for the program completely but it will cover a big chunk of the costs and would provide her a means to focus on school and the pilot program over getting a job to help pay for it.
