Why They Love Being a Student

Annabell genuinely LOVES learning! Whether it's crafts or math or coding or art or history or outer space - she loves to learn new things and explore the world by finding out more about it. Being a student comes really naturally to her - ever since she was little, Annabell has been excited to read and learn and to try new things. She works hard and she cares about the work she does; from notes to projects, she really gives her all to doing a good job with every task she's given.

Favorite Subject & Why

Hands down, math! She's kind of always been a whiz at math, and it's amazing to see the way she lights up when her gears are spinning in problem-solving. Annabell's had great teachers in math who have encouraged her and challenged her. This year, she joined her school's MathCounts competition team to build on her math skills, and she's looking into opportunities in engineering as possible paths to explore down the road. She even won a scholarship to attend an engineering camp this summer!

How $20,000 Would Support Their Goals

Annabell really wants to go places - out of our small rural town, out into the world. An award like this would give her such a foundation to build on towards chasing wherever her dreams may take her. As her mom, I want to give her every opportunity; in reality, the opportunities I can provide have limits. I never want to hold her back from having access to everything she wants, everything she can do - so this award would mean a lot for her, it would give her something that I can't do by myself.
