Why They Love Being a Student

Ava loves being a student because learning is her passion. She likes helping her classmates read and doing projects that require a group effort. Ava never shies away from taking charge and leading by example. She enjoys helping her classmates and is always watching for her peers that may not fully understand so she can try and help them. She also likes helping the teacher watch out for kids that are being bad.

Favorite Subject & Why

English is without a doubt Ava’s favorite subject. Ava has been a book worm since she was able to read. She loves how stories can transport her to far away places and paint pictures on her mind as she delves into the books she selects. She also loves reading books on dinosaurs and zoology packed full of animal facts. Whether is millipedes, snakes or cuddly bunnies Ava has a passion and curiosity for animals and how they behave in their natural habitats.

How $20,000 Would Support Their Goals

The prize money would serve multiple purposes for helping Ava reach and expand her educational goals. Though it would likely largely be saved for college. Some of the money would also be used to enroll in extracurricular programs that she wouldn’t be able to afford if it were not for the money. Travel outside of southern wv would be key as the educational opportunities here are severely limited. Ava also says she’d like to go see a zoo or an aquarium if she wins.
