Why They Love Being a Student

Benjamin loves any opportunity to collaborate with his friends on school projects. Whether it’s science, band, or yearbook, he enjoys the teamwork and creativity that come with being an engaged student. As a lifelong collector of facts, Ben is always looking for opportunities to see or learn something new wherever he goes.

Favorite Subject & Why

Without a doubt, science is Ben’s favorite subject. He finds it endlessly fascinating, especially because there are so many topics and ideas to explore about the world around us. Ben is fortunate to attend an incredible maritime charter school on Tybee Island, where learning often extends far beyond the classroom. From studying the loggerhead turtles that nest on the beach across the street to exploring ways to address local erosion issues, there is always something new and exciting to discover.

How $20,000 Would Support Their Goals

If Ben were fortunate enough to receive this award, it would help support an incredible high school experience. The wonderful school he currently attends only goes through 8th grade, and navigating the public school options in our area can be challenging. This award would provide much needed support for Benjamin as he prepares for the next stage of his academic journey.
