Camille pairs brilliance with heart, balancing biochemistry and violin at Brown while inspiring others via curiosity, discipline, and music
Thank you for supporting Camille in this year's competition. Your participation made a huge impact for The Planetary Society and their mission to inspire curiosity and help shape the future of space exploration for everyone.
America's Favorite Student will share their educational journey in the pages of Reader’s Digest, highlighting the power of learning and inspiring readers nationwide.
Learn MoreWhy They Love Being a Student
Camille loves being a student because learning feels like discovery. Whether she’s studying molecular biology in the lab or practicing for a concert, she’s driven by curiosity and the joy of understanding something new. At Brown, she thrives in an environment where science and music can coexist — where one day she’s studying biochemical pathways and the next she’s rehearsing with the orchestra preparing to tour across Canada.
Favorite Subject & Why
Camille’s favorite subject is physics because it teaches her how to think about the world in a deeper way. She loves the challenge of solving complex problems and uncovering the principles that govern motion, energy, and the universe itself. Physics pushes her to think creatively and persist through difficult questions—skills she brings into every part of her life, from scientific research to music, where precision and curiosity matter just as much.
How $20,000 Would Support Their Goals
This award would help Camille pursue the opportunities that matter most to her: research and service. She studies biochemistry while researching RNA and preparing for a future in medicine. Outside the lab, she volunteers at a hospital, a nursing home, and with adults with special needs—experiences that shape her goals as much as her coursework. Financial support would allow her to focus on research, service, and becoming the kind of scientist and physician who truly serves others.
