Why They Love Being a Student

Christopher is one of those rare students who enjoys going to school. He had the opportunity to get out early as a senior but elected to stay later and finish the engineering and welding pathways that he is also a part of; this was important to him to complete what he started- no nudging on our part needed. As a parent, this is so refreshing to see- I don't EVER have to remind him to do his homework because he is already seated at the dinner table working on it.

Favorite Subject & Why

Christopher's favorite subject hands down is math. Yes, you read that right. Ever since he was in the 3rd grade, we noticed that math came easier to him than most and his love of this field has only gotten stronger over the years. Christopher has aspirations of becoming a math teacher, just like his mentor who has fostered his love of math over the past four years. You can find him in his math teacher's classroom not only working on extra math problems but also helping to tutor students in need

How $20,000 Would Support Their Goals

This award would allow us to help Christopher realize his goals faster, as it would enable him to go to one of his schools of choice- UC Irvine or Cal Poly Pomona to study mathematics or engineering. Thank you in advance.
