Why They Love Being a Student
Darcy loves learning and, maybe more importantly, applying what's she's learned to life. She actively tries to bring more to the table to help other people as well. She sees the value in taking opportunities, and has done so with aviation, ceramics, theatre, golf, and leadership. She recognizes the importance of being good at many things and not singularly focused.
Favorite Subject & Why
Aviation Academy because it uses her social & theatre skills, her love of math, her passion for world travel and history along with her joy of flying. She knows she's lucky her high school has this opportunity, and uses it advance herself and encourage underclassmen to try something new.
How $20,000 Would Support Their Goals
Darcy has a brother and mom with minor disabilities, but it puts a financial strain on the family. This award would help Darcy to get through college without the financial burden hanging over her so she can focus on continuing to get good grades, and go on to earning the pilot's license she really wants. Flight time is expensive and out of reach for the average person. This award would make this dream real.
