Dexter is always excited to learn! Most of all, he is a true extrovert. He thrives in the classroom among his peers, where collaboration and sharing knowledge is key. He also finds joy in supporting others and lending a helping hand whenever he can.
Favorite Subject & Why
Dexter is especially fascinated with all things Science, Space, Tech and Engineering! From an early age, he loved to read. He would soak up countless facts, stories and information that he learned from books and programs, then enthusiastically share what he discovered with family and friends. At around 3 years old, when visiting the pediatrician for a check up, he recited the three common names for the bones in the inner ear.
How $20,000 Would Support Their Goals
We are trying our best to foster Dexter's passion for learning through summer camps, museum/science center visits, and STEM-related clubs. He is an active member of the Auburn University "Future Engineers Club" and has aspirations to study engineering after high school. With this award, we could continue to provide enriching and educational opportunities to Dexter through graduation and also support his college dreams.
