Why They Love Being a Student

Ellaina absolutely loves learning all aspects of Science, but also enjoys Math and Art as well. While she struggles with the social aspect, due to being Autistic, she is learning to navigate and make friends (she hopes to one day be invited to a sleep over!). Cancer may have kept her out of school, but she has been pushing herself to attend, even when it's unimaginably difficult.

Favorite Subject & Why

Ellaina loves science. She has a deep interest in the science field and, even when she's feeling ill, still finds time and energy to learn. Although just a subject and not an entire course, she has a deep love of Paleontology and can tell you almost any dinosaur fact you can imagine (even their time periods). She is greatly enjoying taking AP Biology this year, and hopes to take AP Physics next year.

How $20,000 Would Support Their Goals

Being raised in a single parent household, in Kentucky with limited resources and opportunities, puts Ellaina at a severe disadvantage. One thing Ellaina wishes to eventually buy/own is a 3D Printer. She wants to purchase art supplies, would love to do a study abroad in a foreign country as a foreign exchange student, and save money for college courses once she graduates high school.
