Why They Love Being a Student

Emily has always had a thirst for knowledge, especially when it comes to understanding how things work. She is full of thoughtful questions. Learning comes naturally, because she wants to learn all that she can about the world around her, and she wants to make the world a better place.

Favorite Subject & Why

Emily loves all things STEAM, but especially science and engineering. She finds joy in conduct experiments, and examine things under the microscope, and she is obsessed with building Rube Goldberg Machines or doing building challenges like building a bridge to see how much weight it supports, or a ramp to see how test the velocity of matchbox cars or marbles.

How $20,000 Would Support Their Goals

Emily would love to go to community college and do dual enrollment while she is doing high school, and she would also love to set up a small home science lab to conduct her experiments. If she had her way, her bedroom would already be her own personal laboratory.
