Fable hails from a small, remote town in rural Southeast, Alaska, called Skagway. She attends Skagway City School, a K-12 school that has a student body of about 145 students. The school has a very dedicated staff that makes learning super fun. Fable especially enjoys reading and has a voracious appetite for books! She has been an active participant on her Battle of the Books Team for three years now. Fable is a leader and enjoys being an integral part of her school community.
Favorite Subject & Why
Fable would immediately respond to this question by saying, “Gym class with Miss Kendra!” as she is a very athletic and activity oriented kid. After saying that, I believe she would answer, “Pre-Algebra 1 with Mrs. Ward - because I’m good at math, way better than Mom.”
How $20,000 Would Support Their Goals
A $20,000.00 award would be a HUGE boost for Fable’s educational goals. Fable is really enamored with baking and culinary pursuits. She dreams of attending culinary school in Las Vegas, New York or Paris, France. She often talks of having her own patisserie, offering macarons, cannolis, cakes- all kinds of fancy confections. To save for her future she has had her own table at our local Artisan Maker’s Market selling hand woven friendship bracelets and hand made chocolates that she makes herself!
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like America’s Favorite Student, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
