Learn MoreWhy They Love Being a Student
Jack loves both the social and educational parts of being a student. He likes being surrounded by friends his age and the opportunities he has to help his classmates. His classroom job is helping other students sign in to their educational computer programs. We call him classroom tech support. He is in kindergarten and has been enthusiastically learning to read and do math and is enjoying using those skills out in the world. He also enjoys his PE and art classes. He loves all his teachers.
Favorite Subject & Why
Jack's favorite subject is science. He is curious about the world around him. He will ask questions like, "Why does Saturn have rings?"; "How did humans evolve?"; and "Why can't you crack a glowstick and use it for a second time?" Jack loves watching live streams of rocket launches and then watch videos about how the rockets work. Jack likes learning how things work, taking things apart and then putting them back together. He had a good time fixing a leaf blower with his dad.
How $20,000 Would Support Their Goals
Jack has wanted to be an astronaut and go to Mars since he was a very young child. He says he wants to study engineering at Clemson University and learn to build robots. I would like to get him involved in FIRST robotics when he is older and dues and competitions cost money. It would be a big help to us to be able to pay for engineering activities in high school and still have money leftover to help pay his undergraduate and graduate school tuition.
Help Jack become America's Favorite Student by casting your free daily vote, or make an even bigger impact when you vote by donation, supporting The Planetary Society and their mission to inspire curiosity and help shape the future of space exploration for everyone.
