Why They Love Being a Student

He loves being a student because he gets to start the day by riding the bus. He loves his bus driver and enjoys his rides. At school, he gets to learn new things from his teacher. He also gets to play and have nap time. He comes home, tells his bus driver bye, that he’ll see her tomorrow, and tells us a little about what he did at school. Jonah also watch’s educational videos in class and asks us to watch them at home with his little brother.

Favorite Subject & Why

Jonah likes reading because he can learn anything from he wants from a book. He’s still learning so he has us read to him as well. He likes science because he gets to do experiments and loves watching the results. From learning how plants and butterflies grow, to learning how electricity works. He also enjoys studying maps and music, but his favorite subject is math. He gets so happy telling us what he’s learned with his #s and watching number blocks has become a nightly routine after dinner.

How $20,000 Would Support Their Goals

We live in rural Alabama. Jonah has level1/2 autism. Early on his older brother passed when Jonah was only three and seven months later his baby brother was born. He had trouble talking and needed speech and occupational therapy. His school has been amazing! His progress these last few years has been remarkable and everyone that has known Jonah has made comments about how well he’s been doing. We want Jonah to be able to pursue any goal in front of him and this award would help tremendously!
