Why They Love Being a Student

Kat loves to learn. She sees interconnectivity between subjects and connects learning to current events and needs. She strives to gain everything she can, often learning outside classroom work provided by her teachers. She loves not just the learning but the clubs, sports, and social opportunities being a student offers. Through charity clubs like CSF, she is always looking for ways the students can help the community and kids within their own school.

Favorite Subject & Why

Katarina is always focused on math and science, with math being the underlying key to the way things work, predicting the future, and determining scientific outcomes. She realizes the importance and “ magic” of mathematics and its links to interpreting and solving for problems in other subjects.

How $20,000 Would Support Their Goals

Katarina has her eye on a top university and participates in numerous summer and break programs at universities to expand her abilities. Our family has many challenges with her grandmother who has Alzheimer’s, her cousin who has Autism, and 3 rescue dogs living with us, combined with her OCD/anxiety Kat is consistently balancing caregiving and self-care with trying to achieve academic excellence. These funds would give her more opportunities that just are not able to be explored now.
