Learn MoreWhy They Love Being a Student
Nova has always had a thirst for knowledge. By three she had memorized the names and purpose of all the medical tools in her primary Drs office. She's got a fun fact to share with anyone, especially if it involves science or history! Nova taught herself how to use voice technology to bypass the barriers dyslexia build and being a student is what gave her access to all these things she so loves!
Favorite Subject & Why
It would be a tie between science and history! She loves learning about how things became and how they progressed. She always wants to know how things work and the chance to create using the magic we call science!
How $20,000 Would Support Their Goals
Our state of Alabama has 1 school dedicated to kids like Nova. A school that shows them they can and will succeed. They specialize in dyslexia and ADHD. Currently Nova is kept from science and history, her favorite courses, to make time for her special education needs (a para for testing, class work, occupational therapy). Her gifted program does give her boys of science and history but she craves so much more. 20,000 dollars is two years worth of tuition for this school she desperately needs.
