He chose to take college classes starting freshman year of HS. He is involved in FFA, NHS, UIL One Act Play and has created a card game club that meets every week. He seems to love taking advantage of every opportunity to advance himself toward his future in the most positive of ways.
Favorite Subject & Why
Kolten really enjoys math and has since he was in kindergarten. His elementary teachers were always raving about his math comprehension. He’s currently taking Algebra 2 and he is a huge fan of his teacher Ms. Murphy. He says she does a wonderful job of explaining the work where he and other students understand and retain what they’re learning.
How $20,000 Would Support Their Goals
Kolten is interested in becoming a mechanical engineer. Although he will graduate high school with an associate’s degree, the education he needs past that will prove costly, as most universities are. He is looking forward to experimenting within his subject area while in college and I think the extra funding will certainly allow him to go further with his goals toward his career!
