Learn MoreWhy They Love Being a Student
Levi is kind of learner that makes you realize the future is in good hand. He started a nightly book club reading A Brief History of Time with his dad. He listens to Neil DeGrasse Tyson's podcast, StarTalk, on the way to basketball practice. Levi joined his middle school's fledgling Science Olympiad team when they started it up this fall, taking on the Helicopter, Hovercraft, and Machines events. He volunteers every week as a science tutor for a 4th grade student, sharing his love of learning.
Favorite Subject & Why
Levi loves maths and sciences. As an 8th grader, he is currently taking geometry and Computer Science, as his elective. His interests in science lean towards physics and engineering. He is a problem-solver, always thinking about what would make improvements to his design or project. As a kinesthetic learner, he seeks out opportunities to build and experiment. This summer, he will participate in a mechanical engineering course, learning about designing prosthetic limbs for accessibility.
How $20,000 Would Support Their Goals
Levi aspires to go to CalTech :) And we are encouraging to him to aim high. As the youngest of three brothers, he has watched his eldest brother head off to college and his high school brother getting ready. Levi saves all his holiday and birthday money "for college". Will will invest the $20,000 towards his education as one more step to get him where he ultimately wants to be.
