Why They Love Being a Student

Luna enjoys learning and gaining new information. She finds all subjects in school fascinating, especially science and social studies. Being a student allows her to be challenged and reach personal goals. She also enjoys working hard to be at the top of her class, this position allows her to support classmates who may be struggling in a subject. Aside from her friends, she enjoys creating relationships with teachers and librarians as they usually have the best book recommendations.

Favorite Subject & Why

Her favorite subject is science! This has been a fact since she was in pre-k and in her first week shared with her teacher that the sun is a star. Science has allowed her to ask questions, to wonder and marvel at our universe while her curiosity for the ocean has grown throughout the years. She then found her love for sharks and has made them her focus at any chance she had via presentation, story or science fair project. Chemistry and biology have also peeked her interest.

How $20,000 Would Support Their Goals

This award would go entirely towards her education. Luna wants to go to college and double major in marine biology and ocean engineering. She dreams of a PhD so that she can lead shark research. Luna is not intimidated by years of education, and she is determined to work tirelessly towards this goal. Science needs more girls and this award can get her a little closer.
