Mackenzie has a thirst for knowledge and loves to learn. She loves to read, draw, and engage in academic discourse with her peers on a variety of topics. She also appreciates the field trip opportunities she has had with her current teachers, such as a visit to the California State Capitol and a specially guided tour of a nature preserve, a wastewater treatment plant, and local gold mines. Mackenzie loves any opportunity for hands-on learning and direct engagement.
Favorite Subject & Why
My favorite subject is Advanced Placement American Government and Politics because I enjoy learning about how our government is meant to function. I am fascinated by the birth of our nation and the foresight of our Founding Fathers as they drafted the Constitution and formed our government. I intend to double major in Politics and Diplomacy and World Affairs in college.

It would help pay for some of my first year of tuition at Occidental College and reduce my potential student debt burden at the end of both my undergraduate and graduate degree programs.
