She excitedly awaits answers to her burning questions, and wants to access all of the information she possibly can. She is an amazing student because she looks forward to the endless possibilities to pursue, the way that new information scratches her brain just right, and the fact that she always has another clarifying question. Maranda is the poster child for having a thirst for knowledge.
Favorite Subject & Why
Her favorite subject is Astronomy. She is a Freshman in High School and has already completed a college Astronomy class, which she looked forward to each day, and in which she earned an "A". She was quite upset to learn The Junior College didn't offer any other astronomy courses. She loves learning about the stars, and that the amazing amount of information we know now will only be expanded upon in the future. There are still answers out there to find.
How $20,000 Would Support Their Goals
As a family of little means, it will go a long way towards pursuing her college education. She aspires to attain her AA while in High School and pursue her BA, and eventually PhD. Schools of interest are Stanford, Oxford, and UC Berkeley.
