Why They Love Being a Student

Marcus enjoys the various interactions he has with people. He likes making new friends everyday and is never shy to start the conversation. However, his favorite aspect has to be helping people with school work. I’m always hearing about how Marcus is tutoring people when they ask, helping people get their voice out there, and always takes one step more when he making sure nobody is left behind or left feeling alone. Marcus is the role model I hope every student can look up too. Even I do.

Favorite Subject & Why

Marcus’s favorite subject is without a doubt science. His future career is civil engineering, he loves science more than my other 4 kids did combined. All he talks about is how science changes the world is such a positive way, and how when he goes to college how he wants to positively impact the world. With him loving math and nature, it’s no wonder that’s science takes the cake.

How $20,000 Would Support Their Goals

I couldn’t explain how much the $20,000 would support not only Marcus, but our family as well. Marcus will need major support and our family doesn’t have all the funds that could support him. This award was just what we needed, the support we needed to give Marcus that final push. He is the hardest worker you will meet, financial aid is the biggest challenge he has to face. College wouldn’t bare such a burden and Marcus would accomplish anything he set his heart to. We thank you for this chance.
