He gets to learn new things! When he struggles with new material and finally understands what he’s been learning he’s so proud of himself! Once he gets it that’s it he’ll know it forever. It’s a great experience seeing him make the connections between things he’s learning and truly understanding it not just doing it to do it.
Favorite Subject & Why
Math is his favorite subject! He says that it’s really fun to him and once he understands how to do a problem he just takes off. This is the subject where I don’t have to help him as much and it’s his highest grade compared to other subjects.
How $20,000 Would Support Their Goals
$20,000 is more than generous and can help support his educational goals by providing him with resources and opportunities that we want for him but can’t afford. He’s inquired a lot about getting into robotics and coding and those classes and camps can be very expensive. He’s also behind when it comes to reading compared to his classmates and this award could help get him more support with his reading and language.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like America’s Favorite Student, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
