Why They Love Being a Student

At school I’m surrounded by a world of possibility. I’m passionate about science. It can also be challenging because of my invisible disability, which I’m learning to navigate. I study, do my homework and get decent grades but there’s also unexpected challenges that I need to predict and plan for. I’m America’s Favorite student because I face these unknowns daily like a space cowboy- creative, tough, and curious enough to keep going into the unknown and beyond.

Favorite Subject & Why

Science and history are my favorite subjects, and the history of science makes me feel connected through time. Like string theory everything and everyone is connected and this makes me feel included and part of something bigger than myself.

How $20,000 Would Support Their Goals

The $20,000 dollar award will be the difference between enrolling in a four-year college after graduation or having to start at a community college my first year before hopefully transferring into a four year college later than my peers. I hope to go to a 4- year college but I know there will be out of pocket expenses that will be difficult for my parents. I will save and invest this award for college to make sure I can study science.
