Why They Love Being a Student

A typical response would be “she loves to learn,” but education means so much more to her. She takes on everyday with a positive mindset and comes home from school eager to share her knowledge and connect it to her desire to make an impact. Olivia goes above and beyond on every assignment and project, infusing her love for animals into the classroom in any way she can. She enjoys opportunities to develop her interests and help others. Favorite Subject & Why

All types of science, but biology and environmental science are her favorite. Next year she is planning to create the curriculum for an animal behavior and evolution course with her botany teacher at her high school. She finds it incredibly fascinating to learn about how different species and ecosystems interact with each other, and wants to delve deeper into understanding animal behavior, evolution, physiology, and wildlife conservation.

How $20,000 Would Support Their Goals

She would like to travel the world learning about animals and conservation and how she can make a difference. She loves volunteering at sanctuaries and humane organizations in various countries and this experience will help her gain valuable insights to eventually start one of her own. She also wants to tackle tough issues such as lobbying to end factory farming, promoting strategies to protect wildlife, and continuing to raise awareness about animal welfare.
