Why They Love Being a Student

Parker has always been wired to learn! As a little kid, he'd engineer make-shift bridges to reach items (sometimes items taken away🤣). That problem solving aptitude led to a deep curiosity about how things work & sparked his love of robotics at the very tender age of 8. Immediately, he was hooked on machines & engineering. He also knew exactly what he wanted to do & be when he was grew up: an Aerospace Engineer. Now he dives headfirst into any topic & becomes an expert everyone turns to😊

Favorite Subject & Why

The building of machines has fascinated Parker since he was a toddler. Robotics gave him a perfect way to combine his curiosity of building, machining, engineering & creative problem solving into subject. He loves when (after hours of testing & redesign), the machine he's been building works exactly the way it should. To the point where he is in shop long after most students have gone home. Robotics isn’t just a class for Parker; it’s where all his passions, curiosity & skills come together.

How $20,000 Would Support Their Goals

This award would ensure Parker's path to becoming an aerospace engineer isn't derailed by circumstances outside his control (like his family's current financial situation) and without incurring enormous student loan debt. He will still have student loans; they just won't be enormous😂 As a student who already balances school, robotics competitions, music & helping care for family at home, this support would allow him to focus more of his time & energy on developing the skills needed to succeed.
