I love being a student because of getting to connect with peers and teachers; making bonds that will last a life time. I enjoy all the opportunities my school has to offer including the sports, clubs, and getting to try so many different career paths until I figure out what I want to do for sure.
Favorite Subject & Why
My favorite subject is English because I love to read and write. I love to write because I feel I can really express myself in my writing, it makes me feel better and more free. I love reading (mostly fiction) because it transports you to another, sometimes difficult world, and if real life’s getting hard I find it helpful to go to my books because it’s nice to get lost in them for a little while. Books can teach you real life lessons and gives you empathy and more understanding of the world.
How $20,000 Would Support Their Goals
The $20,000 award could help support my college education goals. I plan to attend a big university and earn a bachelors degree in education or maybe business. If I were to be awarded scholarships for school though, I could then use the $20,000 towards setting up my first classroom and getting my students supplies that they will need for the year, and useful tools or technologies to help teach them, or to kick start building my first business once I decide which route I want to take.
