Why They Love Being a Student

Ronik loves being a student because school is where his determination, curiosity and kindness shine. Ronik enjoys learning, but what matters most to him is the sense of community he feels with his teachers and schoolmates. Ronik is always ready to help a classmate or include a friend when they may be feeling left out. At our last conference, his teacher said she wished for a classroom full of “Roniks.” To me, that says everything about the kind, compassionate student he strives to be every day.

Favorite Subject & Why

Ronik is probably the most confident in math, but writing is definitely his favorite subject. He loves writing original stories and is inspired by author Dave Pilkey. Ronik loves how Dave turned his challenges in school into creativity and success. It reminds him that you don’t have to be the best at something right away - you just have to keep trying. His love of writing reflects Roniks determination, imagination, and genuine love of learning.

How $20,000 Would Support Their Goals

Ronik is an extremely curious third grader and has many interests, and he’s still discovering what he wants to be - and that’s the joy of learning! A $20,000 award would help grow his education fund and give him opportunities to explore his passions. Ronik's word for 2026 is “practice,” and he shows up everyday committed to working hard, never giving up and continuously grow his mind and heart.
