Santiago is curious about the what, why and how of everything! He loves information and seeks out ways to challenge himself both inside and outside of school. He has always wanted to understand things and will watch documentaries about all kids of nature and ecosystems to better grasp information received at school. He asks questions and at times will ask for chemistry and other science kits to do his own experiments. He loves learning every and anything he can and is excited about it!
Favorite Subject & Why
Science is his favorite, and English language arts is a close second. Science mainly due to being able to learn about what things are, how & why they work, and what can Santiago do to make them better. ELA is moreso because he can read and gather more information.
How $20,000 Would Support Their Goals
Santiago would benefit in so many ways from such a great award! Immediately, beginning and contributing to a college fund would be super beneficial as Santiago currently wants to double major in computer science and biology. Being able to pay to attend summer camps or coding courses would mean the absolute world to him and something we cannot afford currently.
