Why They Love Being a Student

Seth enjoys being a student because he likes helping other students with their work. He also enjoys being challenged academically. He was selected to serve as the Master of Ceremony, a role he truly enjoyed, and he showed great confidence while speaking in front of others. Seth loves learning new things and interacting with those around him. He enjoys reading and writing as well.

Favorite Subject & Why

Math is Seth’s favorite subject. When the pastor at church asked what he enjoys doing, he said that he loves doing math. Even when he is getting ready for bed, he will say, “Mommy, give me a math problem.” Seth consistently earns all A’s in math and enjoys solving problems in his head. Recently, he has also begun showing an interest in learning chemistry. To support this curiosity, I spoke with a professor who is willing to help introduce him to the basics.

How $20,000 Would Support Their Goals

This award would greatly support Seth’s educational goals and help nurture his strong interest in learning, especially in math and STEM. I would use a portion of the funds to enroll Seth in a STEM academy or specialized STEM programs that would allow him to further develop his skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Participating in programs such as robotics classes. In addition, I would set aside a portion of the award to begin saving for Seth’s future college education.
