Why They Love Being a Student

Tehya loves to teach others and being a student helps her gain critical knowledge to openly share with those around her. She enjoys pushing through challenging moments to see the results of her hard work. She is hungry for wisdom and has a lot of curiosity which I find admirable as her mother. Her imagination and intuitive spirit will greatly influence the world in positive ways. She is also a social butterfly and enjoys meeting friends, participating in sports, and engaging in good debates.

Favorite Subject & Why

Tehya has several favorite subjects. Science is number one as she's fascinated by the inner workings of the human body, animals and weather phenomenon, plants and noxious weeds, and especially STEM with a focus on robotics and 3D printing. She likes to know “why", and science gives her a deeper perspective on how everything around us functions. She also has a passion for Advanced English and enjoys reading and writing stories. Tehya loves orchestra and plays the viola beautifully!

How $20,000 Would Support Their Goals

Tehya's very passionate and has big goals including wanting to be a doctor or a marine biologist in her future career. Winning this $20,000 would open doors that may otherwise be closed and stifle her dreams. Being a young girl in middle school can be challenging, and winning this competition would give her a huge boost of confidence, providing a major upward momentum allowing her to reach her true potential.
