Yaalinet has always loved learning since she began preschool at 2. She has been blessed with great schools and teachers in Arizona. She takes every lesson seriously and is not afraid to ask for help.
Favorite Subject & Why
Yaalinet’s favorite subject is Theater, where she has discovered a passion she never expected. She completed performing as the Scarecrow in The Wiz on March 12–13, 2026, a role that boosted her confidence and creativity. Encouraged by her teacher, Ms. Roxy (BASIS Tucson North), she uncovered hidden talents for performing that has helped her appreciate other subjects even more. Although theater is her creative outlet, balancing her science courses reflects her determination.
How $20,000 Would Support Their Goals
The $20,000 award would support Yaalinet's educational goals by expanding access to advanced coursework, tutoring, and enrichment programs, while also helping cover future college expenses. It would remove financial barriers and allow her to fully explore her academic interests, strengthen her skills, and prepare confidently for higher education.
